BOHS P405 – Management of Asbestos in Buildings

BOHS approved course covering practical knowledge required to manage asbestos containing buildings.

Course Overview

Our BOHS P405 course provides the practical knowledge and skills to manage asbestos in buildings and audit asbestos removal projects, including the latest amendments regarding HSG248 The Analyst Guide. Candidates must complete practical assessments throughout the course duration and pass both written exam papers 1&2 to receive their BOHS Proficiency Certificate.

Examinations

Candidates are required to pass practical assessments throughout the course as well as two, 120 minute, written, open book, short-answer question examinations on the last day of the course to be awarded the module.

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for Duty-holders i.e. building owners, building managers, owners of small to medium sized company premises, and anyone who has responsibilities for maintenance and building work on premises.

Prior knowledge

Candidates for this course are expected to be aware of the contents of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and in particular Regulation 4 and the supporting Approved Code of Practice and guidance L143 Managing and working with asbestos as well as a detailed knowledge of the types of asbestos, their health hazards and methods to control this – this can be demonstrated by an existing Duty to Manage or a P400 BOHS qualification.
